Youth ministries at the Church of St. Andrew are ministries with, by, and for young people (roughly aged 10 through 20).
Our youth are involved in many of the regular events in the life of our church; they assist with church dinners and sales, they participate in our worship as readers and servers, they are volunteers with younger children in our children's programs.
The youth group at St. Andrew's meets on Friday nights through the school year. Some weeks are specifically focussed on faith development (looking at the Bible or subjects like prayer or relationships); some weeks are more fun activities (like watching a movie or playing video games); some weeks we go on outings in the community (like bowling or beach volleyball). Many of the kids who attend are members of St. Andrew's, but many are not, and simply enjoy this time together.
Every two to three years, the church gathers interested young people who are at least 12 years old to prepare for confirmation, when they take on the vows made on their behalf at baptism for themselves.
Many of our youth are servers during Sunday services, assisting at the altar during worship.
