On the feast of Pentecost, which falls 50 days after Easter every year, we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit upon Jesus' first disciples. One of the gifts of the Spirit was the ability of people from all different langauges and nations to each hear the gospel proclaimed in their own tongue.

With our own cultural diversity, Pentecost is a truly special day at St. Andrew's. If you'll be joining us for worship at any of our services that weekend, you're invited to bring a flag that represents where you are from. During our Sunday service at 10:00 am, we will have a parade of flags, and then enjoy the reading of the story of the coming of the Spirit in nearly two dozen different languages, each spoken by members of our church. We'll also be inviting everyone to pray the Lord's Prayer in their own language during that service. What a wonderful time it will be for our parish to celebrate a baptism, welcoming little MiaNicole into the worldwide Christian family!
