Born and raised in England, Prue came to Canada with husband Bruce, who retired from the Toronto-Dominion Bank. It was after corporate moves to the United States and returning to Canada, that Prue, an Income Tax accountant, responded to her call to ordained ministry. Attending Trinity College, Prue graduated and was ordained in 1990. Her first appointment was at Trinity Aurora as Assistant Curate and then she continued in that parish as Associate, before being called to St. Nicholas in 1994. Prue created and offers a personal bereavement support programme called Living with Loss. Prue has served on two Bishop Election committees; the Constitution and Canons Committee; the Task Force for the Sexual Abuse policy review board; the Diocesan Executive Committee and the Information Resources Committee for the National Church. In 2003, Prue attended Provincial Synod as clerical representative for the Diocese of Toronto and was Regional Dean for Scarborough area for eight years. Prue was appointed Canon of the Cathedral Church of St. James in Toronto in November 2003. Prue retired from the parish of St. Nicholas on September 30th 2004; she is a memebr of the Diocesan Chaplaincy Committee and member of the Board of Directors at Havergal College in Toronto.
Prue and Bruce have three sons. Jonathan, the first, is married and lives in California with his wife and two sons. Second son Simon is on staff with the Primate's World Relief and Development Fund, and is married with two sons. David, the third son, is also married and is in finance and lives and works in Toronto
