The Rev. Heather McCance

Heather has lived her whole life in the greater Toronto area, having attended the University of Waterloo where she received a bachelor's degree in Religious Studies/Peace and Conflict Studies before completing the Masters of Divinity degree at Trinity College/University of Toronto. She has served as chaplain at Camp Couchiching, assistant curate at St. Mary's Church in Richmond Hill and then Incumbent in the Parish of Sharon and Holland Landing, where she also served as Regional Dean of the Holland Deanery for five years. Heather has been part of a number of Diocesan and National Church committees and boards, including the Diocesan Youth Ministry Committee, the National Task Force for Justice, Peace and the Integrity of Creation, the Diocesan Community Ministries Board and currently serves on the Diocesan Postulancy Committee, which selects and assists in the formation of candidates for ordained ministry in the Diocese. She was appointed Incumbent at St. Andrew's in June, 2008.

As a volunteer, Heather has been a part of the Poverty Action for Change Coalition of York Region, and a Sparks Girl Guide leader. She is currently completing her final thesis for the Master of Theology degree, with a focus on the role of experience in formulating theology.

Heather is married to Dave Robinson, the Lead Consultant for Congregational Development for the Diocese of Toronto. Their daughter Cara was born in 2000 and is active in a number of extra-curricular activities. Together, the family enjoys sailing their 27-foot Catalina sailboat Peregrine, moored at Queen City Yacht Club on Toronto Island.
