"We Care" envelopes so parishioners can make donations to help people in our parish and beyond who are facing sudden, short term crisis and to provide financial aid, from time to time, to support local agencies and programs such as women's shelters and the Flemingdon Park Ministry. Outreach: Neighbourhood Lunch Program The Neighbourhood Lunch Program makes it possible for people in the community to get out to meet others, to enjoy new surroundings, and to share in a friendly nutritious meal. Held the second Friday of each month (except July and August) Noon until 2:00 pm Wide variety of food. Open to all people and all ages Non-denominational Easy to get to by TTC Lots of free parking Wheelchair accessible Transportation available Why Come? Enjoy a delicious meal ~ Meet new people ~ Make new friends ~ See new surroundings ~ Enjoy a friendly conversation ~ Learn about upcoming events in your community Typical menu:Hot soupsSalads Assorted meats veggies breads sandwiches Cookies Cakes Juice tea and coffee Outreach: We Care Envelopes The outreach committee maintains envelopes marked with the words "We Care" in the pews in the church. Churchgoers can use these envelopes to make contributions to support the Church's outreach work in the local community. We Care contributions also provide funds to help people in our church family who may be in need temporarily. Outreach: FaithWorks ProgramThe Outreach committee coordinates activities at the Church of St. Andrew, Scarborough for the Anglican Diocese of Toronto FaithWorks program. The FaithWorks program provides the means by which many more people can receive the assistance they require. FaithWorks, in one combined appeal, seeks to raise the urgently needed funds to support the excellent work of the church's many ministries in the city, the diocese, the country and abroad. Of each FaithWorks dollar, the following distributions are made: 15% Retained by the parish 5% Episcopal Area Outreach 70% Community Ministries and Partners 10% Campaign costs.
